Scales and Apeggios
Scales and arpeggios are the fundamental building blocks of music. Consistent practice of major and minor scales is a crucial part of gaining technical mastery of your chosen instrument. This is where you learn and reinforce where the slide positions are for each note.
- Practice slowly and with a tuner for accuracy and consistency of pitch.
- Always strive to produce your best sound.
- Aim for at least two octaves in every key, and strive for more (three or four).
- More advanced players should also spend time practicing scales with tonic drone tones.
