Scales and Apeggios

Scales and arpeggios are the fundamental building blocks of music. Consistent practice of major and minor scales is a crucial part of gaining technical mastery of your chosen instrument. This is where you learn and reinforce where the slide positions are for each note.

  1. Practice slowly and with a tuner for accuracy and consistency of pitch.
  2. Always strive to produce your best sound.
  3. Aim for at least two octaves in every key, and strive for more (three or four).
  4. More advanced players should also spend time practicing scales with tonic drone tones.
** It is recommended that begining and less experienced players study these under the guidance of a qualified instructor.
